Donald Trump was elected President, but he is not a leader
When leaders escape accountability, it sends a chilling message: that power, not justice, reigns supreme. This erodes trust, destabilizes society, and paves the way for authoritarianism to take root.
History has shown us that unchecked power breeds corruption, oppression, and the silencing of voices—threatening the very freedoms we hold dear.
But we have the power to change the course of history. Now, more than ever, it’s time unite, champion people power and progress, and demand accountability and justice for all. Statement on Project 2025
People Power United declares Project 2025 is a clear and present danger to our rights, freedoms, democracy, and the rule of law.
In response to recent MAGA shenanigans to enact Project 2025, People Power United - a progressive grassroots group - issued the following statement:
“Project 2025 is a dangerous plan to move America from a democracy to a theocratic autocracy. There is no power like that of the people, and People Power United stands ready to protect our communities against any and all injustices,” said Laurie Woodward García of People Power United.
People Power United will continue to oppose such harm to our community and champion civil rights for all.
Trump’s Project 2025 Will Give Extreme MAGA Republicans Total Control
Project 2025 is nothing short of a dangerous power grab designed to give extreme MAGA Republicans and Donald Trump complete and unchecked control. Their agenda? To strip away rights, dismantle vital programs, and put the well-being of millions at risk.
Under Project 2025, Republicans plan to impose a nationwide abortion ban and even establish a national registry to track pregnancies and miscarriages. They’re prepared to go as far as imprisoning doctors and nurses for providing essential healthcare—an alarming attack on women’s rights and medical professionals.
This plan doesn’t stop there. Project 2025 would gut the Affordable Care Act, driving up healthcare costs for families while removing protections for pre-existing conditions. Workers would lose overtime pay, middle-class families would face tax increases, and corporations would rake in new handouts—all at the expense of hardworking Americans.
Perhaps most alarming, Project 2025 includes a roadmap to dismantle Social Security and Medicare, slashing benefits for seniors and giving Big Pharma free rein to hike drug prices. This reckless plan would jeopardize the health, security, and livelihoods of millions of Americans.
We cannot afford to let this vision become reality. It’s time to fight back and protect our rights, our programs, and our future.
Here is a brief list of the harms Project 2025 would cause to our communities:
Gives the President "Supreme Powers."
Fires 50,000 federal workers and replaces them with loyalists
Militarizes law enforcement
Replaces public education with Christian education
Criminalizes people based on their race, country of origin, religion, sexual orientation, identity, age, pronouns, race, religion, ethnicity, abilities, and the money in their bank account. Exceptions made for the ‘Supreme Leader’ and loyalists.
Ends reproductive freedom
Defunds all affordable housing efforts and shifts to a privatizing model with a rollback of efforts to protect renters and property owners
Dismantles environmental protections
Criminalizes immigrants
